FURAI

Many bikes ought to be able to be used on the daily route to work, depending on the surface and traffic situation. For the long straightaways outside the urban areas, a fast bike with a relatively reclined seat position. Inside the urban area, the bike has to be stable at low speed, and you'd rather be closer to the eye-level of the other traffic. The Furai fulfills these apparently incompatible wishes!

They have chosen 24" wheels so that you sit somewhat higher, but you can still get your feet onto the ground at stoplights and intersections, even if you aren't very tall. A seat height of 46 cm with a bottom-bracket height of 70 cm makes for a spicy, fast bike. The seat angle of 27 to 33 degrees isn't too extreme for a good view in traffic, and the steering geometry provides a nice, stable ride!

In short, the bike that you won't want to be without for your daily ride to work. And ... who can forbid you to take it out early on Sunday morning to watch the sun come up over the fields? Or to eat up the kilometers on a multi-day vacation?

MIDRACER INSPIRED DESIGN

CHALLENGE CNC STEM SYSTEM

The base of the System is a block which clamps to the top of the fork shaft, to fi t all of Challenge´s forks. Attaching to this with a smooth, play-free pivot system is the riser, which is CNC machined in a single piece. This is a highly stressed part and welds might compromise its strength.

CHALLENGE CHAIN IDLER

Challenge´s new idlers are made of injection-moulded carbon, and just like carbon in graphite form, the material has its own self-lubricating anti-friction properties built in. The idlers run on sealed bearings which can slide easily along their axles, allowing the idlers to adapt to the chain position as you change gear, minimising side loads. This reduces noise and friction even further.

CHALLENGE FRONT IDLER

Challenge front idlers also slides along there axles to adapt the ideal chainline.
The rings are made from a soft material as Your legs are moving close along this idler.

CHALLENGE REAR SUSPENSION

Placing the central shock absorber below the frame retains the beautiful Challenge lines. The pass through link to the ultra rigid seat spine and properly placed swing arm pivot delivers a plush ride while maintaining excellent power delivery.
